Located in Hamilton County, Fishers continues to grow with a population that nearly doubled between 2000 and 2008 and and is currently over 78,000. Fishers, IN has a rich history and was first settled by William Conner in 1802 as a trading post along the White River.
Fishers Station located in downtown Fishers, IN was originally known as Fishers Switch and founded in June of 1872. In those days it was common for communities to spring up alongside railroads. Fishers was no exception and hence was first known as Fishers Switch. A Fishers Trail & Greenway System is under development.
